is IBS awareness month and last night was our monthly IBS Support group. Last night discussion was interesting as we touched upon probiotics and prebiotics and the benefits of them. We then went on to discuss the role of FODMAPS for IBS. Since I have a love for FODMAPS next class we are dedicating to the discussion of FODMAPS. If you are suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is a problem that affects the large intestine. It can cause abdominal cramping, bloating, and a change in bowel habits. Some people with the disorder have constipation. Some have diarrhea. Others go back and forth between the two. Trying a low fodmap diet may help to alleviate symptoms.
