We are in the middle of October which is great for apples, pumpkins, and is also the beginning of pomegranate season. Pomegranates are one of my favorite fruits. They taste great and have tons of nutritional benefits. The major health benefits is polyphenols which are antioxidants that give pomegranates their beautiful bright red color. Pomegranates are also loaded with vitamin C. They even can help with digestion. Pomegranates can help reduce inflammation which can be beneficial to patients who have crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
There are many ways to gain these benefits from this fruit for example turning it into a tasty juice. All you have to do is cut open the pomegranate, take the seeds and add them to a blender. Then add some water and pulse until the seeds are broken down. Then you have refreshing pomegranate juice. Enjoy!
