I know we all think there is sometimes nothing better than Chinese food and I understand! I love Chinese food as well but the nights of a quick take out dinner are behind me.I don’t like to make take out a regular occurrence for my family not only for their health but for my pocket as well. Instead of ordering out I made chicken and broccoli and it was simple. Of course not as simple as picking up the phone but my son liked it so much better he ate three helpings after coming home from CCD.
2 pounds chicken breasts pounded and cut into pieces
3 heads broccoli florets
1 onion
¼ cup tamari
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
3 cloves garlic minced
¼ cup water
3 tbsp cornstarch
Heat oil in wok or skillet. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes. Next add broccoli and onions cook for an additional 5 minutes. While chicken is cooking, in a bowl whisk together tamari, brown sugar and ginger. Add to wok. Cook for 3 minutes. While cooking mix water and cornstarch together. Combine in wok until desired onsite by meet. Add in about 1 tbsp or cornstarch mixture at a time.
