Victoria Miles, NP-C uses compassion in all scenarios as a healthcare provider
From the time she was a young child, Victoria Miles, NP-C knew she wanted to work in Family Medicine. Her parents took her to see her own family physician, and his compassion, good spirits, and drive to “go the extra mile to ensure my parents understood our care and what was needed” inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare. An encounter with a nurse practitioner who “cared for us as if we were her own children” sealed the deal, and Victoria Miles knew she had found her profession.
In discussing care with her patients, Victoria Miles feels it is important to be compassionate, an active listener, and transparent in her advice. She encourages them to provide feedback so that patients feel that they have a support system. Holistic care and education are the parts of her job that she loves most, and the Family Medicine Specialty affords her ample opportunity to provide both for her patients.
When she isn’t working, Victoria Miles, NP-C is active in the alumnae chapter of her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, which is a nonprofit organization that provides community service activities, mentorship, and scholarships to young African-American women. She believes helping young people excel in academics “shapes them as future leaders in the community.”
