Rafael Abreu, DPM encourages his patients to ask the right questions of their provider
Dr. Abreu first became interested in the podiatry specialty as an undergraduate science major at Hofstra University, and he was intrigued by all the possibilities available for a physician interested in focusing primarily on foot surgery. After over 20 years in the field, he has seen “many hundreds” of patients whose lives were changed by positive surgical results, and as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, he enjoys the privilege of specializing in only one part of the body: the foot and ankle.
Dr. Abreu builds close relationships with his patients through humor, pragmatism, listening to the problems they have, and working with them to come up with the best, most effective treatment. He encourages his patients to inform themselves, ask the right questions of their medical team, and listen attentively.
In his space time, Dr. Abreu likes metal working, welding, machining, and professional motorcycle racing. He has been an avid motorcyclist for 25 years.
